The Working Group promotes cooperation and facilitates dialogue between regions in the field of transport, mobility and logistics as well as with the EU institutions to raise awareness of the regional and local dimension of the thematic area. The group fosters discussion on new developments in EU policy and facilitates project development and participation in European projects.

European Research and Innovation Days 2022

The European Research and Innovation Days (RiDaysEU) is the European Commission’s annual flagship Research and Innovation event. This year’s edition will take place online on 28 – 29 September.

Urban Mobility Days

Urban Mobility Days 2022 will be held on 20-22 September in the city of Brno, Czech Republic. Across two days, policymakers, local authorities, academics, NGOs, urban transport practitioners, and urban planners come together to go through the length and depth of sustainable urban mobility, examining the challenges and solutions at hand.

Czech Presidency Conference on Synergies in the Research and Innovation Funding in Europe

As one of the first events in its programme, the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU will organise a flagship conference "Synergies in the Research and Innovation Funding in Europe" on 7-8 July 2022 in Prague. The conference shall be held as a physical event, but following web streaming will be available. Pre-registration is obligatory.

Reciprocity Project Webinar: Mobility as a Service (MaaS): Multimodality and Inclusion

The RECIPROCITY project, in which ERRIN is a partner, is organising a webinar on Mobility as a Service (MaaS). The webinar will be held on 27 June and it will be a great occasion to share exchanges on intermodality and inclusion of territories and users thanks to the evolution of MaaS.

ERRIN Spring Annual General Meeting 2022

ERRIN's Spring Annual General Meeting will be held this year on 23 June at 15:00-17:30 CEST followed by a networking cocktail from 18:00 CEST. In addition to discussing formal issues and offering an opportunity to network, the event will feature debates around the new European Innovation Agenda.

RECIPROCITY Mobility Mission – Paris

To stimulate peer-to-peer learning and exchange, RECIPROCITY will organise four Mobility Missions. A Mobility Mission is an expert site visit to lighthouse cities to experience pioneering mobility solutions first-hand and to learn about their implementation. It enables follower cities to learn from the experiences made in these pilot projects and to transfer this knowledge to their own replication projects.

The new European Innovation Agenda unveiled

On 5 July, the European Commission adopted the new European Innovation Agenda with the aim of positioning Europe at the forefront of the new wave of deep tech innovation and start-ups. The document, to which ERRIN submitted input in May this year, sets out 25 dedicated actions under five flagships, including on European Innovation Ecosystems.

The reduction of the marine pollution and preservation of marine fauna have high attention from the Commission where marine habitats, including seabed suffer negative effects e.g. from lost or otherwise discarded fishing gears. This project will contribute to the implementation of EU legislation, e.g.: the Directive on the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment (Directive 2019/904)31 As a leading manufacturer and innovator of marine fishing gear, Cosmos Trawl located in Hirtshals, Denmark and owned by Iceland based Hampidjan, is an important player in the fishing industry. The company is well-known for its unique facilities. They supply high-quality fishing gear for the sea-going fishing, and fish farm net cages of any type and strive to be the world’s best supplier of efficient, modern fishing gear. This include an increasing focus on circularity where collected waste materials from production is recycled into new plastic granulates and thereby new fishing gear. Furthermore, the company has recently increased its collection of used ghost fishing gears with the ambition to recycle as much as possible.
