On Tuesday 27 November, the Parliament will host a conference on how research and innovation affect everyday life. The conference is open to everyone.
Over the last 30 years, the EU has invested €200 billion in research and innovation projects improving life for everyone.
From Galileo - the European GPS - to Casper, a robot that helps children fighting cancer, the benefits of research are wide-ranging. Last year, more than 60% of completed projects funded by the European Research Council (ERC) were considered major scientific breakthroughs.
The conference will bring together researchers and politicians to reflect on past and present achievements. There will be panels on:
Health and wellbeing
Putting innovation on the market
Safe and secure society for all
