Science Café with Vojtěch Adam

Representation of the South Moravian Region and its partners are pleased to invite you to Science Café with Vojtech Adam, an unconventional open discussion this time focusing on the theme of Medical treatments in the future.  Our guest will be prof. Vojtech Adam, a recognized scientist in the field of chemistry and biochemistry, an expert in the application of advanced materials in the biology. His research is focused on the protein called metallothionein with ability to bind metals. He and his research team believe that this protein is one of the key factors in preventing the emergence of resistance to cancer treatment with metal-based medicines. Confirmation of this fact could contribute to the more effective treatment of cancer in the future. Prof Adam is vice-rector of the Mendel University in Brno and researcher at the CEITEC Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic. He holds ERC Starting Grant "Towards the Understanding a Metal-Tumour-Metabolismna" since 1 January 2018. Science Café is a forum for discussion of current work and interesting scientific issues. It aims to be informal and accessible. Anyone can participate; speaker is there to be questioned and to talk about his work. The debate will be followed by a glass of Moravian wine. More information can be found here. You can register via this link. We very much hope that you will be able to join us on 28 February 2019 at the Pilsen House, Place Jamblinne de Meux 31, Brussels.
