Green Week Partner Event: Towards a Greener Europe - preparation and implementation of effective sustainable mobility plans.

The South Poland House in Brussels (Małopolska, Opolskie and Silesia Region) is delighted to invite you to attend the multi-stakeholder Seminar “Towards a Greener Europe - preparation and implementation of effective sustainable mobility plans”. The event will take place on the 15th May 2019 at 8:30 am at “InfoPoint Europa” (rue d’Archimède 1, 1000 Brussels) as part of #EUGreenWeek. As you probably know, transport is responsible for almost 25% of greenhouse gas emissions and it constitutes the main cause of air pollution in cities. That is why our half-day Seminar will focus on sustainable mobility strategies, especially regarding the practical aspects of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) as one of the possible solutions to overcome this problem. The Seminar will start with a debate on the importance and future of sustainable mobility strategies and plans from the European perspective. Some of the best practices will be presented by the City of Milan and the City of Essen. The second part of the Seminar will focus on the biggest challenges related to the preparation and implementation of SUMPS.  The Seminar will feature experts from DG MOVE, Eurocities and Polis Network, City of Milan   (6th SUMP Award Finalist) and City of Essen (European Green Capital 2017).
